What's The Direction?

Anytime you have symptoms you have a few questions to ask. First, are these symptoms significant. One thing we frequently forget is that the body is self-adjusting. So just like in life, there will be times when we are more stressed, when we’ve eaten the wrong foods, when we’ve done too much physical activity and are hobbling around the house. And so the body also has days where it is “dealing” with something and so we have symptoms of that. These symptoms usually last less than a day or a few days at most and then go away.

Symptoms that worsen over time or become chronic (more than 48 hours) are signals that our body is trying to manage and resolve something, but is having trouble. This is when we want more information and we literally need a translator to know what the direction should be to help the body regain normal function.

A conventional physician will rely on various tests such as blood testing and scans however there is an important consideration here…

Just because you have a positive test for something does not mean that it is the reason for your symptoms.

The truth is that many pathogens will be present in our bodies at any given time, viruses even live with us for the rest of our lives. But just because things are present does not mean they are actively creating symptoms nor that they are part of the problem. I have had so many patients come in to my office telling me all the things they have been diagnosed with and all the treatments they have done and they still don’t feel well. Their symptoms have still not resolved. So take a step back and consider what this means… take a moment …. hmmmm … the cause of the symptoms is not being addressed? Exactly!!! It seems logical when we say it, when we hear it, but we rarely follow that logic. We are instead convinced that somehow we just haven’t found the right solution yet. This leads us from one practitioner to another, from one idea to another, from one test to another. Now it’s one thing if you’ve been hit by a truck and your leg is lying in the road. There’s no doubt what the problem is. But what about things that are not so obvious? If something is critical and debilitating, then you need to get yourself to the ER, but for just about anything else, especially something that has become chronic, consider the following.

Remember that every situation is an outgrowth of your history. Knowing the issues your body has had in the past can tell you which areas of the body may have trouble managing unexpected challenges. The very first thing to always do is to look at your diet, your elimination and your exposure. What has changed recently? Have I had previews of these symptoms in the past? Almost every issue you will have is going to be related to one of these three things. By keeping track of symptoms you experience, when and how long they last can tell you which of these three causative factors deserve attention. Remember that your body does not speak your language, it speaks your body’s language. So over time you should be learning your body’s language.

Knowing your history helps give you direction because most conditions are a case of “the straw that broke the camel’s back”. You’ve had multiple issues over time that have gradually led to where you are now. For real resolution, you have to address all of those.

Now the advantage to having kept track of your history is that you have some direction of where to look. The advantage to having really done body cleansing, decongestive lymphatic therapy and herbal therapy is that you don’t have significant accumulation of toxins and metabolites to create the severity of symptoms. The advantage to having daily cleansing bowel movements, eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise is that it makes a symptom more likely to be present exactly in the place where you expect it to be. All of this makes resolution easier, quicker and simpler.

So the lesson of the story is to become your own interpreter, learn your body’s language and keep up with the things that limit your body’s need to cry for help. That way you will know what the issue is and how best to resolve it.
