Why Our Bodies Are Playing a Game of "Telephone"
In all the years I have been practicing, one thing that is asked over and over again is what symptoms can someone expect when they start a protocol of remedies. The answer to this is I don’t really know. The reason I don’t know is because only your body knows what wonderful changes it will make once it has the nutrients, enzymes, catalysts and energy that it needs to do the work it needs to do.
Think of how fatigued you get when you have symptoms and don’t feel well. It’s hard to even think about working or exercising or even just thinking! But when you get the biological and energetic things that you need, it is like getting a recharge. Once you have that recharge what will you do with that extra energy!? Exactly - you don’t know until you have that extra energy. And the first steps in your recharge is to clear out debris that gets in the way, eliminate shoddy workmanship such as cells that aren’t healthy and refill your reservoirs. Clear the cobwebs and bring in the fresh air.
We are conditioned to believe that feeling bad is bad. This is strengthened by our experience with prescription drugs. If we have negative symptoms with a prescription we know it’s a bad sign, a sign that our body is not reacting well. This is because the drug is forcing our body to do something that it is not ready for or willing to do on its own. So it makes sense that the body will rebel, will resist, will have a “reaction”.
Natural medicine is a completely different experience, but it may still remind us of the pharmaceutical experience. But now we’re talking about something completely different. Natural medicine views the body as never doing anything wrong. That means that whatever symptoms you have are simply the body’s attempts to manage something that it cannot resolve. This causes the body to change its normal way of doing things to adapt to the thing it cannot get rid of, fix, restore or heal. These are your “Sign” symptoms.
So when we begin a plan using natural medicine, both remedies and therapies, change begins to occur on multiple levels. First the Sign symptoms may worsen or past Sign symptoms may re-emerge. This tells you that the protocol is working on exactly where the issues are. The next symptoms will be the “Change” symptoms. These are the complete opposite of the symptoms created by the pharmaceutical plan. We are providing the body with support, with the nutrients and essential factors that it needs to resolve the issue, not just manage it. So we are powering up systems, organs and tissues that may have been blocked or minimized in their function. We are not forcing the body to do something, we are encouraging the body to do what it inherently knows how to do.
We are giving the body a recharge and then stepping back to see what it does with this…
Now this is where the game of “telephone” comes in… we provide this opportunity for change, we provide the body with a message through protocol and therapy (the telephone wire). Now the body systems begin to improve, to work in the way they are supposed to work. That allows them to start doing functions that they may not have been able to do for a long time. The message is being transferred from one body tissue, organ and gland to another. Each time the receiving tissue is utilizing the message and then passing it on. So like in the game “telephone”, a message is passed from one person to another creating changes in the message as it continues and often resulting in changes that couldn’t have been anticipated at the beginning, which is part of the fun of the game! In this way natural medicine provides a unique experience to each recipient.
So as we approach the body, we also don’t know all the changes that the body will make with the tools and resources that we are now providing for it. We know the outcome will be a positive step forward but we don’t know what that will look like. So the changes that happen to the telephone message depend on the individual people that are spreading the message along. This is the same in the body. The health and individual capability and need of each organ and tissue that receives the protocol, will determine the Change Symptoms that are experienced and the outcome.
So what the we really need to do is to trust that our body knows what to do and try to let it do just that. We need to relax, endure and stay out of the way. Then the real healing takes place, the healing that comes from within.
